IAMKIDZ - Digital Photography Program

Program Outline
The best way to teach digital photography to children is with hands on lessons. From the first lesson itself, they will start to take photos with their digital cameras. Photography is not just about pointing and pressing a button; it is a decision-making process. This program helps children better understand the media images they are bombarded with every day and helps them look much more carefully at the world around them.
In this program, children are first taught on handling the digital camera and then to photography techniques. Later, they will be introduced to computer image-editing techniques so that they can use the pictures in their school’s projects, multimedia presentations and Web pages.
Field trips are integrated as often as possible. Through editing and critiques, the children learned to think critically and to articulate their thoughts and feelings. These discussions provide a platform to acknowledge each and every opinion, thereby building a sense of self-worth and respect for others.
Upon completion of this program each student will produce a DVD slide show of their works created throughout this program.
*Parents participation during class/field trips is highly encouraged as it help enhance child’s self-esteem and promote positive parents-child relationship.
