Digital 3D animation is gaining tremendous popularity around the world today. Those who produce them are thrust into the limelight and revered as Artistes. I.A.M. Academy is happy to present to our Advanced Diploma in Digital 3D Animation. This course is packed with all you need to get you started in a career as a successful 3D animator.
What subjects are available?
Advanced Diploma in Digital 3D Animation comprises of the following modules:
Principles of Animation, 3D Character Rigging, 3D Character Animation, and 3D Dynamics Simulation.
What will I learn?
Principles of Animation
This module is a detailed, study of at the animation process, its history and wide-ranging techniques, using the twelve traditional principles of animation as a springboard. Discussions are profusely illustrated with animated and live action films that are ‘deconstructed' and explained so that students not only get a deeper insight into animation basics, but also gain a better understanding of the nuances that differentiate the emotion of animation from simple movement.3D Character Rigging
Student will be taught advanced kinematic character set-up. Topics include Skeletons, forward/inverse kinematics Bipeds, Quadrupeds, and Facial Animation Setup.3D Character Animation
This module addresses how to translate acting and movement in 3D. From the graph editor to the dope sheet, from inverse kinematics to forward kinematics, students will learn how to take poses and create fluid movement through timing and spacing. Projects range from cycles (bi-pedal, quadru-pedal) to pure performance-driven animation.3D Dynamics Simulation
This module introduces professional 3D techniques to model garments and simulates natural cloth behaviour on an animated 3D character. This include applying dynamic effects such as wind or turbulence onto the cloth. In addition to you can create and animate other fabric such as bedding, drapery and flags.![]() |
